Collective Responsibility Conference.

29th February 2024.

We were delighted to return to the Strand Palace Hotel, London again this year and are very grateful to them and to our Event Sponsors and supporters, Asahi and Britvic, for supporting the event.

This year's annual conference will include an update on the charity's progress and its impact on the economy, what are the major challenges we are currently facing in supporting our members back into employment, how supporters can aid getting many more people into work by 2025, as well as much much more which you can find further details about in our agenda below.

Only A Pavement Away’s purpose is to provide pathways out of homelessness and crime into purposeful employment within the hospitality industry. Over the next six years it is estimated that there will be around 1.3million vacancies in the hospitality industry. At the same time, the number of people who are facing or are at risk of becoming homeless, is rising with an estimated 66,000 more people experiencing homelessness.

This year, we are excited to host over 170 delegates from employer and charity partners, sponsors, supporters and guests from across hospitality.

To date we have placed 450 candidates back into work saving the local & central government an estimated c.£12.8million through reduced government support, financial independence, and household expenditure. Our average retention level is at 60%, with many members now having worked with their employer for over 2 years, several over 3-4 years and 3 over 5 years.
